Merry Switch-mas

This year for Christmas, the bulk of our material gifts revolved around a new Nintendo Switch. We have owned both a Nintendo Wii and an Xbox One in years past, but ended up getting rid of them within a couple of years of acquiring them. Both kids have Nintendo 2DS XL systems that they use for individual play, but we wanted a family system we could play together. We owned the Wii before the kids were really old enough (and coordinated enough) to play video games, and the Xbox just didn’t have many age-appropriate games.

One advantage to the Switch is that it is quite small, especially compared to the Xbox. It should quite easily move into an RV with us. So far, the kids have spent the day trying out all of the games we got for them, but Mindy and I haven’t had much opportunity to play yet. We plan on remedying that over the rest of the holiday break.

We have always enjoyed game playing, both board/card and electronic. This system should let us do it more frequently together. I find it annoying to see 4 people sitting around the living room with headphones in their ears and not interacting with each other. At least this way, we will all get to yell at each other instead…<grin>

The family that plays together, stays together…right?
