Update 3/14/2023:

The RV left our possession today, on its way to its new owner. I hope they are able to enjoy it for many years!

We have decided that full-time RVing just doesn’t work for us at this point in our lives, so we are selling our RV. It was probably not the best choice to start a nomadic lifestyle at the beginning of a global pandemic, but I’ve never been told that I have great timing.

We bought the RV new in early 2020, and lived in it for about 6 months at an RV park in north Texas. We then spent a few weeks traveling with it to Utah, where we lived in it for another few months in an RV park. We decided to stop living in it full-time, and put it in storage for the next 7 months. In the middle of the summer of 2021, I towed it back to north Texas and lived in it for a few weeks (to confirm everything still worked properly), before putting it back into storage, where it now sits. Total mileage driven is about 2500 miles.

Those of you with a keen eye will notice a missing item from the picture above…the awning. We made the mistake of leaving it extended while we went to dinner one night during the summer of 2020. It had been a hot, calm day up to that point, and the weather wasn’t supposed to change until around 8:00 PM. Unfortunately for us, it changed at about 6:00 PM, while we were still 15 miles away, half way through dinner. Here is a screenshot I took on my phone, showing the weather from that day:

Needless to say, the awnings are not rated for 40 mph winds…and ours did not survive. I had to unbolt it from the RV to even let us back inside (which was necessary, since it was raining).

Here is a list of the things we added to the RV:

  • Washer and Dryer – we purchased these from the dealer and had them installed by the dealer (McClain’s) when we bought the RV
  • Upgraded TV in the main bedroom (1080p version to replace 720p)
  • Soap/Shampoo/Conditioner dispenser in the shower (simplehuman triple wall-mount pump) – attached with included double-sided sticky tape and some silicone caulk, so it is removable without damaging the shower wall
  • simplehuman garbage can for the kitchen (not attached to anything, but fits nicely next to the island)
  • Toilet paper holder – attached with Command Strips
  • Various Command Hooks
  • Fan to push more air into the second bedroom from the ceiling (through the loft’s built-in cabinet duct)
  • Memory foam topper for king bed
  • Dining room benches (to replace the original dining room chairs)
  • IKEA storage unit for loft
  • Extra 40 pound propane tank that can be hooked up outside of the RV via extended hose in one of the existing tank bays
  • Nest smart smoke detectors in the second bedroom and loft
  • Southwire Surge Guard 34951 w/wireless monitor
  • 50-amp extension cable for main power cable
  • Tireminder TPMS with handheld monitor
  • Mopeka Tank Check monitors (2) with wifi module
  • AcuRite wireless fridge and freezer thermometer
  • Hollywood Racks 4-bike hitch-mounted rack
  • Ladder and broom for cleaning top of slides
  • Various hoses and drainage pipes necessary for use at RV site with full hookups

Included with the Tireminder system was a range extender. Conveniently, this works with the Tireminder, Mopeka, and AcuRite, so all 3 work from the cab of a truck pulling the RV. This way, you can monitor tire pressure/temperature, propane tank levels, and fridge and freezer temperatures while driving.
