Our plan is fairly straightforward, which isn’t to say easy, but roughly approximates to the following steps (more or less in this order):

  • Cut out a number of unnecessary monthly expenses = complete
  • Get down to one car payment = complete
  • Pay off some excess debt = complete (but not really ever complete)
  • Save up for an RV = complete
  • Search for the right RV = complete
  • Buy an RV = complete
  • Move into the RV = complete
  • Sell the house = complete
  • Buy a bigger truck = complete
  • Pull the RV around the country for a few years before settling down on our property

Getting down to one car payment involved returning my car when it’s lease expired, and finding an old truck we could buy for cash. The plan is for this to be our farm truck, once we have our property. In the meantime, I use it whenever we need two vehicles.
