A month or so ago, I was returning from a trip to the hardware store in my truck, and it started having some issues. My best guess is that coolant was leaking from the radiator into the transmission. I spent a little time tinkering with it (not my forte) and decided that it was beyond my ability and desire to fix. So, I got rid of the old truck, and got our new one!
The new truck is a 2020 Ram 3500 with the HO diesel engine, a 4.10 axle ratio, 4 wheel drive, and dual rear wheels. With a 34k pound towing capacity, it should have no trouble with our RV.
We are planning a weekend getaway to a nearby state park next month to give it a full test, but I also plan on a few short trips between now and then, mostly to get used to pulling my entire household around. One of my first trips will be to get the RV weighed so we know if we have too much stuff (which we likely do).
